CPT of Bharathidasan University conducts programme on artificial insemination and enhancing milk production of dairy cattle

Special medical treatment focussing on artificial insemination and enhancing milk production of dairy cattle was conducted by the Centre for Pheromone Technology (CPT), Bharathidasan University (BDU), as an extension activity, recently.

The day-long programme of the CPT titled ‘livestock rearing practices and disease prevention management’ at Olaiyur village in Manikandam panchayat had the participation of Tami Nadu Veterinary University Training and Research Centre and the Animal Husbandry department.

According to G.Archunan, programme convenor, 50 ranchers benefitted from the programme that also witnessed treatment of cattle for infertility, white cholera of poultry, komari vaccination, and intestinal worm treatment of sheep and goat.

Livestock drugs were provided free of cost by a Mumbai-based veterinary drug manufacturing company Virbac Animal Health Ltd.
