1107 more edusat labs to be set up by Punjab govt.

With the aim of providing quality education to the remotest student of the state, Punjab Government has set up 2,077 Edusat Computer Labs under a NABARD project to enhance teaching and learning process in the state schools.
   
Education Minister Sikandar Singh Maluka here said another 1107 such Edusat Labs would be set up in the remaining schools soon.
 
Rural students unable to pay hefty fees to the coaching centres would be able to prepare themselves through satellite learning, Maluka said, adding, 1,719 students from the rural areas were selected in Engineering and Medical Colleges through this e-learning programme.
  
He said that 1,016 Edusat classroom had been set up with 516 Satellite Interactive Terminals (SITs) and 500 Receive Only Terminals (ROTs) in various government secondary schools in the state.
  
The minister also said that this year a crash course was conducted from February 28 to May 5 to enable the students to review the lectures at their convenience.
