Satellite campus of IIM-Kozhikode at Kochi

The Chief Minister of Kerala Oommen Chandy will be inaugurating the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IMM-K)'s satellite campus on June 9.
 
IIM-K Director Debashis Chatterjee said the satellite campus is being set up with the overall objective of supporting the growth and development of business and industry in the region. It will primarily focus on Executive education.
 
As the only IIM in the country having an Internationally accredited Executive Management Education Programme, the Kochi campus will offer full and part time programmes targeting at middle and senior level executives, a release said.
 
The Kochi satellite campus will be initially housed within Kochi's Infopark and focus primarily on executive education - both long-term and short-term, besides specialised courses for executives of IT sector.
 
Initially, the satellite centre will be offering one-year executive MBA programme as well as two-year part time programmes in addition to a large number of short duration Management Development Programmes, the release said.
 
As the campus is located inside the Infopark, Kochi, it will directly help the executives at the park to hone their management skills thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Indian IT sector and boost the IT sector growth, it said.
 
Announcing the launch of the Kochi campus, Prof Debashis Chatterjee, said IIM Kozhikode's presence in Kochi will help the state spearhead its unique positioning as an investor friendly, liberal and efficient destination for business.
 
Started in 1997 with its Postgraduate Programme (PGP), the IIM-K is offering widest range of academic programmes in the field of management education.
 
The initial facility inside Kochi's Infopark envisages commencement of admissions from October 2012.
