Updated on: Friday, June 01, 2012

The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court directed a Matriculation Higher Secondary school at Srivilliputhur in Virudhunagar to allow children of the School Parents Welfare Association to continue their education in 2012-13.

Justice G.M.Akbar ali, admitting a Petition by the association secretary S Kannan, also directed the management of Srivi Lion Matriculation Higher Secondary School to readmit dismissed students though their parents had paid fees as fixed by the fee determination committee/Government order.

The Petitioner sumbitted that the High Court bench had held on May 3 2012 that the school fee determination committee was at liberty to appropriate action against schools which misinterpreted its order and collected excess fee.

But the school correspondent had demanded huge amount from parents and the same was reported to them But the authorities had not taken any steps, he said.

The school correspondent and Principal also said they were not interested in admitting children of Petitioner association in the school this year.

The petitioner contended that when the Inspector of Matriculation schools inspected the school, the management had agreed to collect the fees fixed by the determination committee and as per G.O.But they had violated the assurance.

The petitioner also prayed for a direction to the school to implement the G.O following the High court order with regard to collection of fees.
