AMU enters into a tri-lateral collaboration project with US UK University

A tri-lateral collaboration project has been entered into between Aligarh Muslim University, Ohio State University, USA and the University of Bristol, UK, for exchange and training programmes in the field of stem cell research and higher education in Physics.

The decision was taken at a meeting in which representatives of the three universities took part. The focus of the project  on cancer research, X-ray nano-technology and wireless technologies.

An exchange programme has been included in which six scientists from Bristol and Ohio would conduct specially designed courses and research in the above fields at AMU besides a training programme for post-graduate and post-doctoral fellows.

Prof Wasi Haider, Chairman, Department of Physics, said, that the programme would continue beyond its two years tenure with institutional support and research grants to individual scientists.

The Ohio Super Computer Centre will provide state-of-art facilities at no additional cost, he said. The entire funding of the project will be done by different funding agencies in USA, UK and the Department of Science and Technology, India.
