Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that many educational institutions of international standard have been allocated land in the Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Sonepat.
The foundation stones of 12 to 14 such institutions would soon be laid in the same manner as were laid at the IMT here, Hooda told reporters here.
Stating education and industrial growth were important for speedy development, he said, the state government has been consistently making efforts in this regard.
The chief minister also said that an international airport was coming up at Mohali near Chandigarh with equal partnership between Haryana and Punjab.
Further, a proposal for a Cargo Airport in Haryana was under consideration, he said.
With the land holding of the farmers getting smaller, he said, it has become necessary that more industries are set up so that the youth can get more employment opportunities.
He said that during the previous seven years of his government, attempts were made to make the state a leader in all areas including education and industries.
Stating there was a bumper crop of wheat in the state, Hooda said this was due to the hard work of the farmers who deserve credit for it.
Assuring to purchase the bumper crop, he said, the officers had been directed to ensure the farmers did not face any problem.
