Delegation of UK Universities visiting Nagpur

Representatives of 12 UK-based Universities will be visiting the city on April 26 and 27 to discuss opportunities of collaboration with colleges affiliated to the local RTM Nagpur University.
   
According to local sources, Officials from the British High Commission are expected to lead the delegation.
   
The conference of local institutes and the British delegation is organised by UK Trade and India (UKTI), Pune.    

Dr Y Mohit Kumar, Director of NIT Graduate School of Management, is the chairman of the local organising committee.
   
The delegation would comprise representatives of Central School of Speech and Drama, Teesside University, University of Northampton, University of Gloucestershire, Leeds Metropolitan University, Edge Hill University, Staffordshire University, University of Glamorgan, University of East London, University of Alberta Dundee, University of Birmingham and Leeds College of Building.
   
The delegation would discuss courses taught in the British university, and initiatives such as twining program, staff training, students exchange, off-shore campuses, faculty development, student internship, work placement, licensing or franchising of curriculum, employability skill development/finishing school, etc.
   
Dr Kumar said, "Nagpur has the potential to become an International Education Hub. We have all the facilities of a metro and institutes with good infrastructure. We lose a great deal of revenue when our students go overseas or other metros for higher studies."
