FM to address VTU convocation

VTU Vice-Chancellor H Maheshappa stated that Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will deliver the convocation address at the 11th Annual Convocation of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) here on April 8.
    
At the convocation, Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, Dr S S Mantha, Chairman All India Council for Technical Education, Dr H C Visvesvaraya, former VC,University of Roorkee will be conferred honorary doctorates.
   
Founder President of Gokul Education Foundation, which runs several educational institutions, including medical and engineering college in Bangalore, M S Ramaiah would also be conferred honorary doctorate posthumously, Maheshappa said.
  
Governor H R Bharadwaj and Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will also grace the convocation at which VTU will confer B.E. Degree to 53,451 students, B. Arch degrees to 278, MBA degree to 4865, MCA degree to 2544 students, M.Tech degre to 2711 and Master Architecture to ten students.
