Bihar admits dissatisfaction with University education

The Bihar Education Minister P K Sahireplying to a question of MLA Achutanand in the state assembly admitted that the basic infrastructure, number of teachers and the academic atmosphere in the universities were not satisfactory due to resource crunch.

Mr. Sahi said that the University had demanded an allocation of Rs. 4400.63 during 2011-12 but the state had made a provision of only Rs. 3080 crore out of which an amount of Rs. 1959 crore has already been made available to the University. the state government had made a request to the UGC to sanction Rs. 201 crore for the strengthening of the infrastructure facilities.

He further said that an amount of Rs. 859 crore had been provisioned for setting up Aryabhat Knowledge University for conducting technical exams.
