Periyar Varsity introduces collaborative programme

Salem: In novel venture, the Periyar University plans to introduce University – Industry Collaborative Programme through its distance education wing, Periyar Institute of Distance Education.

For career-oriented candidates, this venture will facilitate to provide undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses in collaboration with the industries.

'The objective is to give students with training to meet the requirements of the industry and production houses so that when they complete the course, they will be ready to go and work on live projects,' said an university official.

Initially, the educational institution plans to offer courses in advanced multimedia, animation and information technology under the programme.

M. Thangaraju, the Vice-Chancellor said the principal objective of the programme was to strengthen the career prospects of the students and enable them to get practical time experience while learning.
The list of other courses will be announced shortly.
