UGC chief post shortlisted to two names

The names of former Vice Chancellor of Hyderabad Prof. S.E.Hasnain and Prof. Pankaj Chandra Director of IIM Bangalore have been shortlisted for the coveted post of Chairman of UGC. Srinath Reddy President Public Health Foundation of India who headed the three member search committee handed over the names to the HRD Ministry.

The ministry decided to appoint a regular Chairperson for UGC after the decision to create the national Commission for higher education and research was put off. Mr. Ved Prakash the Vice Chairperson is currently holding the charge of the Chairperson.
