IIT-Kanpur students build Nano-satellite

Kanpur: The students of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur ( IIT-K) developed a Nano- satellite "Jugnu" that will be launched into the space by Indian Space Research Organisation ( ISRO) in December 2009.

'A team of 20 students from our institute has made the nano-satellite,' said Prof. S.G. Dhande, Director of IIT-Kanpur.

The satellite weighing less than 10 kilograms, developed at the cost of 2 ½ Crores, will provide information related to drought, flood, agriculture and forestry.
