Govt School tops state level football league

Disha Sports Academy in association with Chennai Football Association (CFA), conducted Disha Champions League Football - 2012, an annual state level football championship for the fourth consecutive year.

This tournament for children of U 13 & U 17 category, aims to identify upcoming and promising talent in football among the children from lower economic strata.

In the U-13 category for schools, Govt Hr Sec School, Ayanambakkam beat SBOA (Matric) to take the cup. Disha sports Academy outplayed St Patrick's academy in the same category for academies. 
In the U-17 category for academies, the finals were played between the Tiger Garden and Shaolin Soccer teams at Nehru Stadium in which Shaolin soccer team emerged as winners. In the same category for schools, St Patrick's beat Cresent.
 
Other special awards presented to the players were for highest goal scorer and promising player. 

Successfully organised for the fourth consecutive year saw 78 teams participating in this year's tournament.
