Ayurveda college students urge govt to provide infrastructure

Students of the Government Ayurveda College here urged the Tamil Nadu government to take all steps, including providing proper infrastructure and getting due central government recognition.
 
Officials quoting students speaking to reporters said the Centre had 'suddenly' cancelled recognition/permission to the college, shocking first and second year students and also 48 others who had submitted their certificates and were awaiting formal admission.
  
Union minister for state for Health Sujib Bandopadhyaya had told reporters here recently that college had not been given recognition as it did not have infrastructure.
 
Officials said 48 students selected in October 2011 had been given certificates. The Centre had denied permission even as their admission was to be formalised, they said.
