June 15, 16: AU admission tests

Allahabad: The ball has start rolling for the post graduate admission test (PGAT)-2009 to be conducted by the Allahabad University. It would be held at six centres in various states, besides Allahabad on June 15 and 16.
 
Jagdamba Singh, director, PGAT, said that the tests would be held in Bangalore, New Delhi, Guwahati, Indore and Bhubaneshwar, besides Allahabad. The forms would be available at the selected branches of State Bank of India (SBI) in these cities from May 4. The sale of forms continue till May 22. The last date for submission of the forms would be May 22. This decision was taken during a meeting of the PGAT-09 core committee chaired by Singh on Wednesday evening.
 
Singh said that the forms would be available priced at Rs 400 for general and OBC students while for SC/ST and physically handicapped students would have to Rs 200. Students would be able to start depositing the at the Pravesh Bhawan from May 5 with the last date being May 22.
 
Duplicate admit cards would be distributed at the Pravesh Bhawan between June 12 and 14. Students aspiring for admission in MA and MSc programmes of all subjects barring anthropology and biochemistry would be appearing for the admission test on June 15 while on June 16, students aspiring for admission in MCom and MA, MSc anthropology and MSc biochemistry would be appearing between 7 am and 9 am, said Singh. The students aspiring for admission in MA and other subjects would appear in the entrance test between 9.45 am and 11.30 am. The students appearing in entrance test in two subjects would appear in the admission test from 9.45 am to 1 pm. Those seeking admission in MA mass communication will appear in the test at 9 am, he added. The results would be declared by July 22.
