Kanpur varsity to offer new courses from next session

Kanpur: BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration and Diploma course in food and beverage services will be offered by the Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University (CSMU) from the next academic session.

The Academic Council of CSMU has given its nod to start an Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, in a meeting held recently.

The Academic Council has also decided to introduce semester system in the professional and post-graduate courses offered by the university.

In an effort to bring about transparency in the evaluation system, one out of all the examination papers would be on the optical mark reader (OMR) pattern.

The Vice-Chancellor (VC) along with the other academic council members was of the opinion that they would try to incorporate the OMR pattern from the next year.

To bring transparency in the evaluation procedure the varsity is also going to incorporate OMR pattern in the examination.
