Agriculture entrance examination

The Indian Council for Agricultural Research has invited applications for the all-India entrance examination for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in agriculture and allied subjects. All seats in the B.Tech. dairy technology course in the National Dairy Research Institute and 15 per cent of the seats in the degree courses in agriculture and allied sciences in State-level agricultural universities are filled through the test to be held on April 14.

The test centres include Kochi, Mannuthy (Thrissur), Coimbatore, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Tirupati, and Delhi. Those who take admission outside the State of domicile are eligible to get the national talent scholarships based on the entrance examination.

Those who have passed Plus Two or equivalent examinations with physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology or agriculture and secured minimum 50 per cent marks taken together (40 per cent for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes and the physically challenged) are eligible to apply for the undergraduate examination. Those appearing in the qualifying examination in 2012 may also apply. The entrance examination for admission to postgraduate programmes will be held on April 15 to fill 25 per cent of the seats in the Master's programmes in agriculture and allied subjects in the State-level agricultural universities and all seats in the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, the National Dairy Research Institute, and so on.
