TN to fill up more than 800 medical vacancies in hospitals

Tamilnadu government announced filling up of over 800 medical vacancies in govt-run hospitals across the state as it hiked the condolidated pay of nurses employed in Primary Health Centres.
 
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has directed that 835 vacancies created due to staff retirement, enhancement of services and upgradation of hospitals be filled and this will be done soon, a state government release said.
 
Further, the government announced a special allowance of Rs 500 to nurses appointed for natal servcies in PHCs in the state.
 
The nurses presently took home consolidated pay of Rs 4,000, Rs 4,500 and Rs 5,500 per month in the first, second and third years respectively, it added.
