National means-cum-merit scholarship examination

Chandigarh: State Institute of Science Education (SCERT) Punjab, would conduct the State Level National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination for the year 2009 on November 8 to select 2210 students from class 8th in the state.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of the Education Department, Punjab, said that in this Scholarship Examination, students studying in 8th Class in the State's Government schools, Government aided and Local Bodies Schools situated in Punjab would be eligible, subject to the
eligibility conditions.

He said that the successful students would got scholarship of Rs. 6000 per month from class 9th to class 12th, but only those students, whose parents annual income does not exceed  Rs. 1.5 lakh, would be eligible to sit in the examination.

The medium of examination would be Punjabi/English
