Fulbright-Nehru fellowship to TNAU scientist

A scientist in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has received the prestigious Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship for the year 2011-12 from US-India Educational Foundation.
 
Under the fellowship programme, Dr Chandrababu, Department of Plant Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, will work for eight months on "translational genomics for drought resistance improvement in crop plants" in Cornell University, one of the Ivy League institutes in USA, a TNAU release said.
 
The cross country collaboration will identify breeding targets for drought adaptation in rice and wheat, two major food crops of global importance, it said
