IICPT signs MoU with Canadaian Varsity

Thanjavur: The Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology (IICPT)has signed a MOU with University of Manitoba, Canada, for taking up collaborative research programmes.

K. Alagusundaram, Director of IICPT, representing the Thanjavur institute and Digvir Jayas, Vice-president (Research), representing University of Manitoba, signed the pact in New Delhi recently in the presence of Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Subodh Kant Sahai, Secretary Ashok Sinha and Joint Secretary Ajit Kumar, according to an IICPT press release.

The understanding would facilitate collaborative programmes of research, training, curriculum, institutional development, information dissemination, and exchange of faculty, students and staff.

Situated in the central Canada with more than 25,000 students studying courses in arts and science, engineering, health and law, the University of Manitoba is a significant educational institution

Functioning under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, the IICPT is a pioneer research and development institute. The institute is one of its kinds in the country, addressing post-harvest processing and preservation problems.
