Manapparai to get Govt arts college

Manappari: By the next academic year, Manapparai town will get a Govt arts college, the Transport Minister, K. N. Nehru said.
Speaking at a function to distribute free gas stoves with LPG connections to the residents of Manapparai Municipality on Friday, Mr. Nehru said initiative would be taken for improving the infrastructure in the municipal limits shortly. To create more employability to solve the current unemployment problem, new industries would be started in and around Manapparai and Thuraiyur towns.

Referring to the various welfare schemes implemented by the government, the Minister urged the people belonging to weaker sections to enroll themselves as members of the 26 welfare boards constituted by the government for the unorganised sector workers to obtain various benefits like scholarship for education, marriage assistance, assistance for pregnant women.
 
Mr. Nehru also explained the various benefits the state managed to get from the centre.  The development of various ports in the state and the decision of the Union Ministry for Fertilizers and Chemicals to start fertilizers and chemical manufacturing units in the state will further prove a boon to the state and provide employment opportunities to a large number of youths.
