Central University decides on courses to offer

Tiruchi: The Central University, Tiruvarur, plans to launch few academic programmes during September.

It is one among the 12 new Central Universities in the country started until now uncovered states through an Act of Parliament; Central Universities Act, 2009, earlier this year.

Programmes in social sciences and humanities that do not require labs and equipments will be launched. The programmes in English Language, Tamil Language, and Regional Studies had been almost finalised in consultation with eminent experts, Vice-Chancellor B.P. Sanjay told.

Adjunct and guest faculties with abilities to work in different areas have been identified. Once teaching and research departments are streamlined properly, essential positions will be notified and recruitment process initiated as per the UGC guidelines for teaching positions.
