Harbouring a potent dream to revolutionise education in the state, Orion Education was conceptualised in 2005 and established its humble roots in suburban Kolkata only in 2006.

Orion Eductech has emerged as a nourisher to the dreams of various students embedded in the promising portals of the corporate and IT sectors. Out of 72,000 of its wards, 60,000 have been profitably employed in various reputed companies within India. It is now a pan Indian organisation with roots stretching even to Bangladesh and Bhutan.

The celebrations of its 6th anniversary saw luminaries in the field of education assembling in Rotary Sadan to partake in the celebrations and also to recognise the achievements of both the students as well as the trainers.

What followed next was an address by the chief guest Prof Syed Samsul Alam, the VC of Aliah University that has strong links with Orion. His speech chronicled the travails, which afflict those wishing for better employment in the country, and how training institutions in the league of Orion are assisting immensely in empowering them adequately.

Guest of honour Suparno Moitra, the regional manager (east) for NASSCOM adopted an interactive approach for his address, which was much appreciated by the gathering. Congratulating Orion on its successes, he encouraged the conglomeration of students to not abandon their dreams and to cling on to every opportunity that may come their way.

Somnath Banerjee, GM – corporate alliance at Orion Edutech then outlined the path that Orion would adhere to in the following years culminating into a cake cutting ceremony and a final vote of thanks by co-founder Sanjeev Kothari.
