AP govt relaxes age criteria for state jobs

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy announced increase in the upper age limit for joining government services.
 
On the New Year eve, Reddy announced increase in upper age limit for employment in state government services for all categories, including General, SC/ST/BC, Physically Handicapped, Ex-servicemen and existing state government employees.
 
For General category, the age bar as per the AP State and Subordinate Service Rules has been raised to 36 years from the present 34 years, while for SC/ST/BC it has been enhanced to 41 years from the existing 39 years, according to a release from the Chief Minister's Office.
 
Meanwhile, Reddy has also extended New Year greetings.
 
"The government will be accountable, responsible, responsive, transparent and will work with utmost dedication and determination to implement all the welfare and development schemes (in New Year)," Reddy said.
