UP scientific institutions get 7-8 pc of S&T budget

Department of Science and Technology is providing 7-8 per cent of its annual budget for scientific institutions in Uttar Pradesh.

Science and Technology Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said during Question Hour in Rajya Sabha that six research institutions under his ministry in Uttar Pradesh are aided by the Centre.

During past four years, Rs 1,411.05 crore has been invested in national laboratories in Uttar Pradesh, he said.

"Development of Science and Technology in the state of Uttar Pradesh is accorded high priority by the Government of India," he said.
