Guv lauds works of Indian History Congress

Lauding the work of the Indian History Congress, an academic and professional body of historians, Punjab Governor Shivraj V Patil today said the organisation has helped people in understanding country's history through its publications.
 
The Regional history should be pursued in a pan-India context, he told the Platinum Jubilee Session of the 72nd Indian History Congress here. He also appreciated the body for instituting annual and biannual awards for the best research papers and books in different fields of Indian history.
 
Vice President Hamid Ansari, who was to attend the event, was unable to reach as his plane could not take off due to poor visibility in New Delhi.
