Demand to name Patna University after Sinha rejected

The Bihar government rejected a proposal seeking naming Patna University after the veteran freedom fighter and the first chairman of the constituent assembly of India Dr Sachchidanand Sinha.
 
Such a proposal to name the Patna University after Sinha was not under the consideration of the state government, state HRD Minister P K Shahi said in reply to a question by a MLC Harendra Pratap Pandey.
 
At the same time, the state government was pursuing with the Centre to accord central university status to the varsity.
