On a traditional note

Updated on: Wednesday, December 07, 2011

Students of Matrusri Engineering College at Saidabad turned up in their traditional attire depicting the Indian tradition culture and showcased their skills in the traditional activities like ‘rangoli' reflecting that they continue to be in touch with the Indian rural culture despite being brought up in a city environment. The occasion was the Fresher's Party “Benvenuto” and dressed in their finest the girls depicted our tradition in the ‘rangoli' competition. The first year ‘pirates' searched around for the ‘Treasure Hunt' and the winners were fortunate to grab the treasure. All the freshers participated in the literary events like ‘Spell-bee' and ‘Just a Minute' (JAM). During the singing competition students melodiously rendered the classical notes. The exciting part of the day was the “Tug of War”, held for both girls and boys. The collage compiled by the participants was interesting. The grand finale was the Ms. and Mr. Fresher contest and the winners of various events walked away with prizes.
