The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union(AAPSU) has demanded to increase the intake percentage of Arunachalee tribal students in the North East Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), the premier technical institute of the region located at Nirjuli near here.

The apex students' body in a memorandum to the authorities of the institute also demanded for implementation of proper pension policies for the employees, a communique said here today. A delegation of the union led by its president Takam Tatung visited the institute yesterday to take stock of the problems.

Meanwhile while apprising the new NERIST director of the past records, the AAPSU members urged him to be aware of "politics within the campus". The union further cautioned that it would be compelled to intervene, if any employees of NERIST are found to be working against interest of the institute for their personal benefits.
