PG programme in banking and financial services

The banking and financial sector offers one of the most attractive career options. It currently employs over two million professionals. With continuous double-digit growth in the sector, there is a continuous demand for quality professionals.

Xavier Institute of Management - Bhubaneswar (XIMB) is offering a postgraduate programme that is built to the specifics of the banking and financial services industry. The first batch of this programme was offered at its campus with tremendous success. The second is being conducted in New Delhi in association with Alethia Education Services.

One unique aspect of the programme is that it offers world-class learning along with unlimited industry exposure. The candidates who are selected in the programme are automatically placed for industry internship at the start of the programme. Four days in a week (Monday to Thursday) are spent in a corporate environment. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, extensive classes are conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

All aspects of the programme, including academics, governance, research, and consultancy are being managed by XIMB. Senior faculty members from XIMB will be coming to New Delhi to conduct classes for the programme. Senior leaders will also be giving guest lectures, which include industry icons, prominent entrepreneurs, policy-makers, researchers, bureaucrats and consultants.

Altogether there will be three semesters of four months each. The participants will be required to spend five days at the Bhubaneshwar campus. During the period of their stay, the participants need to attend intensive classroom and group learning sessions. This is a mandatory component for successful completion of the course. Upon successful completion of examination and evaluation, the certification will be given by XIMB.

The application form for the programme is available till December 11. Selection will be done by XIMB through personal interviews. The sessions will commence on February 10. Graduates in any discipline are eligible to apply. Applicants with relevant XAT / CAT / MAT scores and PGDM / MBA having work experience would get preference in admissions procedure. Fee for this one-year programme is Rs. 2,47,500, which can be paid in four instalments.
