National Conference on Machines and Mechanisms

Updated on: Tuesday, November 29, 2011

National Conference on Machines and Mechanisms (NaCoMM 2011) to be held in IIT Madras between November 30 to December 02, 2011.

Held under the aegis of Association for Machines and Mechanisms (AMM) and the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM),  the 15 th National conference aims at bringing together researchers, industry experts and students interested in various aspects of design and analysis of machines and mechanisms.

This year the conference starts with a one-day workshop, focussing on the kinematics of mechanisms and robot manipulators. The conference would consist of regular paper and poster presentations, and special talks by experts. Also included in the conference is the Students' Mechanism Design contest, an event that became part of NaCoMM in 2009.

The conference includes a workshop on kinematics conducted by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Manfred L. Husty, Professor of Geometry and CAD, University of Innsbruck, Austria. There will be three keynote lectures delivered by eminent academicians, Prof. Ashitava Ghosal, (Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, India), Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andrés Kecskeméthy, (Chair of Mechanics and Robotics, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany) and Prof. Marco Ceccarelli, (President, IFToMM, Laboratory of Robotics and Mechatronics, University of Cassino, Italy).
