TISS gets approval for centre in Guwahati

The Government has given its nod to establishment of the Guwahati campus of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and a constituent unit of the institute.

TISS, a 'deemed-to-be-University', had submitted a proposal in December, 2009 seeking permission for establishment of an off-campus centre at Guwahati under its ambit.
 
"The Government do hereby declare that TISS, Guwahati shall be a constituent teaching unit under the ambit of TISS, institution deemed-to-be-university, Mumbai as an off-campus centre," said a government statement.
