Puducherry govt urged to establish fisheries university

CPI has urged the government to follow Tamil Nadu's example and set up a fisheries university and a research institute here to develop technology in the sector as Puducherry and its outlying regions have a long coastline.
  
A party press release said the Tamil Nadu government had announced setting up such a university at Nagapattinam. Puducherry could emulate this, it said.
 
Party volunteers would stage a demonstration in support of this plea among others on November 28 at the coastal village of Thavalakuppam near here, the release said.
