The conference halls at College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram and Technopark was abuzz with serious thoughts and sound advices doing the rounds as young men and women listened to the likes of Arun Balakrishnan, chairman of the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited.

That was the seventh edition of CET’s ‘Kalpatha’ (meaning competency) — an annual national conference conducted to build strong professional networks among students. A year later, as the hall prepares for another edition of Kalpatha, a few big names are lined up to share their wisdom.

Kalpatha 2011 wil focus on ‘Business Innovation: The New Age Survival Mantra’. The chief guest for the inaugural function on November 18 is T.P. Sreenivasan, former ambassador.

Other key speakers include IBS founder and CMD V.K. Mathews, Dr N. Ganesh Babu, Dr. Sandhya Sekhar and VP of Tata Consultancy Services K. Padmanabhan. The two-day event will also have paper presentations and quiz competitions.
