Applications for IT Finishing School

Coimbatore: The Teknoturf School of Computing, an Information Technology Finishing School, was recently launched in Coimbatore. The school will train computer science and IT engineers and graduates to make them industry-ready.

“Our company has been into induction training for the past eight years. The school will train them in such a way that companies can cut down on the entry-level training,” CR Vengatesh, Managing Director, Teknoturf School of Computing, said here, during the launch.

There are two courses being offered. The Teknoturf Certified Software Professional course, to be completed in five-and-a-half months, is expected to be beneficial to those who have graduated in 2008 / 2009 with a BE or BTech in Computer Science, IT, ECE, EEE or Mechanical Engineering, or with a MCA, M Sc or B Sc in computer science or IT. The intake will be above 120 and the fee structure around Rs 69,000.

The Teknoturf Certificate in IT Infrastructure Management Services course will be of four-and-a-half months duration. Candidates who have graduated in 2008 / 2009 with BSc or MSc in computer science or IT and also those who have passed BCA and MCA are eligible for the course. The intake will be around 60 and the fee Rs 54,000.

The full-time courses will begin on August 10. Entrance tests for selection of candidates will be done on July 26 at Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad and Ernakulam. An aptitude test will assess the analytical and logical skills, fundamental mathematics and English abilities of the candidates. Final interview will be held from July 29 to 31 in Coimbatore.
