Cooperative University to come up at cost of Rs 5 crore

Karnataka Government will sanction Rs 5 crore for the establishment of Cooperative University in Nelamangala, on the city outskirts, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda announced.
 
Inaugurating the 58th All India Cooperation Week celebrations at Nelamangala, he said the proposed university would come up on a three acre land.
 
Former minister and a well known cooperator, H K Patil, exorted that there should be no political interference in the working of cooperative institutions.
 
Minister for Cooperation, Laxman Savadi, said the government has targetted to disburse Rs 7,000 crore crop loan to 25 lakh farmers at the rate of one per cent interest during this year.
 
Several persons and organisations who have rendered distinguished service in the field of cooperation were honoured.
