Periyar Varsity initiates PG programme in journalism

Salem: From the current academic year a two-year postgraduate programme in Journalism and Mass Communication would be introduced at Periyar University.
The programme will focus on extensive training in the fields of print, electronic and new media. The course will prepare students for reporting and writing in every medium. Students will also be taught about the techniques in photography, audio and video technologies.

The varsity also offers a postgraduate programme M.Sc. Visual communication, which will focus on electronic media, graphics, photography, audio and visual technologies.

To encourage media students and professionals to carry out research works,  it has also introduced M.Phil and PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication.
