IIM-T director promises support for development of business schools

Entrepreneurship is the key to nation's development and young business management graduates should strive hard for the socio-economic growth of our country by starting micro and macro industries, observed Prafulla Y. Agnihotri, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchi.

Delivering the valedictory address of the three-day management development programme on 'Entrepreneurial avenues in MSMEs' organised jointly by the Hallmark School of Business and the Gandhigram Rural Institute Deemed University here on Friday, he said that India needed a large number of entrepreneurs. In this context, he explained the scope for entrepreneurship with the advent of various sectors, including insurance and other services.

Pointing out that the scope for employment opportunities abroad for young management students was brighter, he advised them to contribute their might for the growth of our country.

"You can gain some experience in foreign countries and utilise it for the growth of our country," he said .

Referring to a plea by R. Krishnamurthy, chairman of the Hallmark Business School, he said the IIM would extend all possible assistance for the development of the business schools in this part of the region.

"We would also start an incubator in course of time and extend needed support to your entrepreneurship proposals," he said.

B.Balamurugan, Director and Convenor, Managing Development Programme, HBS, said different sessions were held in which officials and industrialists explained the various procedure to be followed for getting subsidy and bank loans.

A practical session on making soap and juice were also held.
