Model schools for children from financially weaker section

Updated on: Friday, November 04, 2011

Four model schools would be constructed in Maoist-hit blocks of Hazaribagh district to provide education facilities to the children from financially weaker families.

Deputy Commissioner Manish Ranjan, who visited Barkagaon, Keredari, Churchu and Katkumsandi blocks last week, has directed the Hazaribagh additional collector to identify five acres of land for each school in these four blocks to start construction of model schools, an official release said here today.

The schools would be on the pattern of Central schools with all amenities and children belonging to the poor would be admitted to the institutions. Several schools in remote areas across Jharkhand had been raged by the Maoists since the states creation 11 years ago.

In a separate order, the DC directed the additional collector to pay compensation between Rs 15,00 and Rs 10,000 from relief fund to families whose buildings were damaged due to rains in August/September this year at Katkumdag block of the district, the release said.
