Computers for village students

Nagercoil: It was a memorable day for a students belonging to a remote village who got a computer to study and play games with.
This good gesture came from the Indian Red Cross society of Kanyakumari Unit , thanks to all efforts made them to make few children dream a reality.

According to the District collector, Rajendra Ratnoo, president of the Society, the district administration and the Society had identified 53 schools to provide computer knowledge to the wards of poor people in different parts of the district.
So far the programme has been implemented in 53 government schools and 40 communities in Kanyakumari district.

The communities and schools were identified based on existing needs, the lack of NGO presence and capacity of the Indian Red Cross district Unit.

Mr. Ratnoo appreciated the efforts taken by the office-bearers of the Red Cross in the development activities for the betterment of the society.
