iLead (Institute of Leadership Entrepreneurship and Development) recently organised an event on advanced and safe products and technologies used in building and infrastructure industry with contemporary architecture and design. It was a workshop cum seminar specifically for builders who construct buildings. The seminar dealt with the various upcoming safe products and technologies that companies are inventing to ensure safer buildings.

The seminar began with a welcome address given by Pradip Chopra, chairman, PS Group and iLead. It was followed by a keynote address given by Harsh Patodia, president, CREDAI-Bengal. Thereafter the company Indian Natural Stone imparting information followed it on natural stones such as marble, sandstone, limestone and other construction and building stones.

The company HR Johnson spoke about the various variety of tiles they manufacture like porcelain, glass, and mosaic. These tiles can be used from bathrooms, kitchens to conservatories for both residential and commercial markets.
There were presentations on house wiring by Polycab; fuel efficient and low maintenance type diesel generating sets by Mudra DG Sets; high reliability joint kits by 3M and solutions for power and control, critical power, energy efficiency and automation and renewable energy by Schneider Electricals.

A presentation was given by Saint Gobain Glass on the various types of high performance glass like, heat control, thermal insulated, solar control, led glass, light emitting glass, fire safety resistance, etc. Dow Corning gave a presentation on silicone and silicone products and technology and lastly a presentation by Facade India Consultants on specialisation in testing of curtain walling, windows and cladding systems was given.

The seminar was very informative as it threw light on the various new technologies and products in the market nowadays. These products and technologies not only reduce energy cost but also make a building safer for living.
