The state directorate of medical education and research (DMER) will release details of medical and dental seats at six unaided colleges, including three in Pune district, which have remained vacant after September 20 due to non-reporting or cancellation of admission by the candidates.
The admission process, which started on July 19 with the release of first round selection list, is now into its last leg with the cut-off date for all medical and dental admissions being September 30. The second and third selection lists were released on August 25 and September 14, respectively.
A notification issued by the DMER has stated that only those seats, which fall vacant at the six unaided colleges shall be filled category wise by the respective colleges as per the Maharashtra Health and Technology - Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) 2011 rules.
The colleges are: Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research's (MIMER) medical college at Talegaon Dabhande, Pune; Kashibai Navale medical college, Narhe, Pune; Sinhgad dental college, Sinhgad road, Pune; K J Somaiyya medical college, Sion, Mumbai; Maharashtra Institute of Medical Sciences and Research's (MIMSR) medical college, Vishwanathpuram, Latur and MIDSR dental college, Latur.
The eligibility criteria and rules of admission will be as per the brochure(s) of the MHT-CET 2011 for heatlh science courses, the notification stated.
College-wise vacancy position will be posted on the DMER's official website: www.dmer.com on September 23. Candidates desirous of admission at either of these colleges will have to apply to the respective colleges on plain paper with MHT-CET 2011 mark sheet and photocopies of all relevant documents, between September 23 and 25, the notification stated.
The deans/principals of these colleges will display the merit list and selection list of all applicants on their institution's notice board at 11 am on September 26 while the last date for the candidates to join the college will be upto September 28. The candidate should report with all original, relevant documents, certificates and prescribed fees at noon on September 29.
