In a telling commentary on the fate of private engineering colleges in Madhya Pradesh, not a single student has taken admission in 20 of them in this session, a report said.
Not only are these 20 colleges going through a bad phase, but there are 60 more colleges also where the total number of admissions was almost negligible, a report by the state Technical Education department said.
Madhya Pradesh has a total of 223 colleges and 1,11,000 students had appeared for the Pre-Engineering Test (PET) held earlier this year.
Following the PET, around 70,000 students had registered themselves for counselling with the Technical Education Department and after that 50,000 students had taken admissions in various colleges.
Of the 20 colleges in which there was no admission, 8 are located in Bhopal.
It seems ample options before students in term of availability of colleges have cast a shadow on managing private engineering colleges in the state.
