HC stays admission in MBBS course in IGIMS for a week

Updated on: Monday, August 22, 2011

Patna High Court stayed admissions in MBBS course in the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) for a week.

Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi passed the order on a writ petition filed by a candidate A K Abhinav challenging a decision taken by the IGIMS management committee to take admission on 100 seats in the MBBS course for the academic session 2011-12 on the basis of the BCICE merit list instead of the national entrance examination results.

While staying the admission process for a week, the court asked the state government and the IGIMS to file their reply with a week.
