By the end of the first round of online admissions, 7,614 students from various boards have confirmed their seats with respective city colleges.
In order to avoid making major changes in the online admission schedule, college heads were asked to surrender their vacant seats for admission once again for the second and last bifocal merit list, which will be to be announced on Monday.
"After colleges surrendered seats, we now have 3,408 seats left for students in the second round of bifocal list," said a senior education official. Close to 18,000 students had applied for the bifocal seats this year. Over 10,000 students will now be vying for the remaining 3000-odd seats.
The second bifocal list will be announced at 5 pm on Monday.
