Self-finance Engg. colleges push students into a fix

Self-finance engineering colleges keep students at bay without giving any alternate options by demanding them to pay the fees right away although these colleges had given 20 July as the last date for fee payment.

Moreover, these colleges also decline to refund the fee amount if students want to discontinue the engineering course to join in other courses. As a result, students and parents are subjected to tremendous pressure.

Nevertheless, some students even after getting a chance to join in Anna University opt to join medical. Similarly, few students opt to join engineering course though they get chance to join in medical. Such students are not provided with an option of their choice, but forced to pay the required fees immediately in the colleges they receive the admission.

Some students who were denied seats in first round of medical counselling, are eagerly waiting to get admission into medical colleges through the second round counseling. As a precautionary measure they also keep engineering allotment letters with an idea that they can join engineering courses at the end of second round medical counseling.

But, the enforcement made by self-finance engineering colleges put students and parents under undue stress leaving with no options but to join the college.

Self-finance engineering colleges pronounced 20th July as the last date for payment of full amount. It is apparently clear that the college management is trying hard to avoid loosing students to medical or some other courses.

However, students and parents feel that a government intervention to relax the fee payment date till 11 August would do good for many, as medical counselling would be over by then.
