After 5 days, details on engineering seat takers

As on 05-07-2011, totally 2670 students have opted engineering seats at various colleges in Anna university counselling that officially commenced on 30-06-2011.

Earlier, counselling was held for sports, physically challenged and for students coming under various quotas on 30-06-2011. And counselling for vocational stream began on 01-07-2011 and closes on 07-07-2011.

In the last 5 days, call letters have been sent to 3055 students, out of which 349 were absent and 36 skipped.

Coursewise allotment details as on 05-07-2011 are given below:

Aeronautical Engineering(54), Automobile Engineering(25), Bio-Technology(6), Civil Engineering(366), Computer science and Engineering(261), Electronics and communication Engineering(581), Electrical and Electronics Engineering(414), Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering(51), Information Technology(148), Mechanical Engineering(696) and other branches(68).

Mechanical Engineering course continues to remain in top position as favourites among students. At the close of the day 147 students have been admitted in Govt./Aided colleges and 2523 students have been admitted in self-finance colleges respectively.

Counselling for general category commences on 08-07-2011.
