Only a few seats are left for students to grab in Delhi University's most sought after courses BCom(H) and Eco(H) as only 19 colleges declared their third cut-offs in these courses.
Moreover, popular colleges like Kirorimal, Hansraj and Sri Venkateshwara, which did announce cut-offs in these courses did not bring the required percentages down substantially for the general category students.
Thirteen colleges today declared their cut-offs for BCom (H), while only six declared their cut-offs for Eco(H). In Kirorimal, where admission for Eco(H) course was closed, the cut-off for B Com(H) came down by a marginal 0.5 per cent to 95.25. Hansraj, on its part kept the BCom(H) cut-off same at 95.75 while bringing down its Eco(H) cut-off by 0.75 per cent.
At the Sri Venkateshwara college, the dip in BCom(H) was again of 0.75 percentage point. However, with these three colleges coming out with a third cut-off, students who make into the new bracket are sure to be overjoyed. Admissions to Political Science too closed down in many of the colleges, with only 13 declaring cut-offs in the third list. Same was in Mathematics and Physics honours courses, which are among the most popular in the Science category.
While only five colleges have seats in Mathematics, only four have seats left in Physics. However, there were still plenty of options for OBC category students for whom almost all colleges still have space.
The Delhi University still has a window for two more cut-off lists, but the picture about which colleges will actually announce those will be clear only over the next four days.
