General category students use fake OBC certificate to get admission in DU colleges

Eleven general category students have been found using fake OBC caste certificate to get admission in Delhi University colleges. Some of these students have succeeded in getting admission in top colleges like SRCC and Kirori Mal, on the basis of these certificates.

These students can't be arrested as they are minors, Delhi Police officials said.

300 more such students are under scanner and they are said to have got admissions in other prestigious colleges, Delhi Police said.

According to Delhi Police, a gang is operating in North Campus and East Delhi areas and is charging about Rs10,000-15,000 to prepare forged OBC certificates.

Police is investigating the matter is likely to arrest the gang members soon.

The third cutoff list for admission in DU colleges is to be announced to today.
